Sesame Workshop Partnership
Making teaching and learning fun.
The Techniques for Effective Teaching (TFET) is a unique program launched in 2012 and expanded in 2018 through a partnership between the IDP Foundation, Inc. and Sesame Workshop, the renowned educational institution that has created a myriad of global education projects (including Sesame Street in the US).
The primary objective of the program is to equip teachers with the child-centered teaching skills necessary to make learning fun. TFET offers teachers training on how to nurture a child’s social and emotional development through teaching methods that encourage interactive and exploratory learning.
Using a series of 14 video-training modules that feature the colorful and ever-energetic Sesame Workshop Muppets, kindergarten and primary school teachers can learn valuable techniques to create lesson-specific, low-cost teaching materials as well as strategies on child-friendly, effective classroom management. The training modules are accompanied by a teacher workbook, a training manual, and durable classroom learning materials designed to be used alongside the videos.
