The Angella and David Nazarian Social Innovators in Residence program at Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania hosts leaders who utilize business-based solutions to solve global economic and social challenges.

IDP Foundation’s co-founder, and 2015 Nazarian Social Innovator in Residence Liesel Pritzker Simmons, recently sat down with Stephanie Kim, associate director of community strategy at the Wharton School Impact Initiative (WSII), to discuss how to invest in projects and products with the goal of affecting social, environmental and financial change. In addition, the two briefly discussed WSII’s recently released report, “Great Expectations: Mission Preservation and Financial Performance in Impact Investing,” which sought out to dispel the myth that investors seeking social/environmental returns will sacrifice financial returns.
