We are excited to announce our Sinapi Aba Branch Coordinators (BCs) for November: Godfred Abraham & Macleana Coleman! In highlighting a BC every month, we at the IDP Foundation want our supporters around the world to get to know a few more of the outstanding individuals on the ground who have helped the IDP Rising Schools Program (IDPRSP) reach over 130,000 children.

Our Branch Coordinators are responsible for implementing the main activities of IDPRSP. Their main role includes: identifying low-fee private schools to participate in the program, guiding school proprietors through 9 modules of training on financial literacy and school management, taking them through the loan application process, and monitoring the schools’ progress. As integral parts of the IDPRSP, it is our honor to feature Sinapi Aba’s outstanding BCs every month to show much deserved appreciation for their hard work. Godfred and Macleana’s commitment to students, parents, and school proprietors can be seen in the strong work ethic that they bring daily.

Macleana works in the Ashanti region of Ghana in Sinapi Aba’s Offinso branch. She has been part of the IDPRSP for six years and told us how much she loves the work that she does. She is continually inspired by the persistence of proprietors to fulfill their dreams of making education affordable and accessible to all children. Over the years, Macleana has witnessed the amazing things that are possible when a school owner is determined to improve the lives of others so she sees it as her duty to support them in achieving their dreams.

When asked what she likes most about the IDPRSP she said, “IDP Rising Schools solves problems which always puts smiles on the faces of the communities, children, parents and proprietors.” Macleana had some advice about what it takes to be a successful BC: “Do the work with love because with love even the impossible can be achieved.” At the IDP Foundation, we could not agree more and are grateful for her many years of service.

“Do the work with love because with love even the impossible can be achieved.” Macleana Coleman

Godfred is a Branch Coordinator for the Cape Coast branch in the Central Region and has been with Sinapi Aba for seven years. The joy that Godfred gains from the IDPRSP carries him to work day after day. His inspiration comes from witnessing the proprietors’ professional and personal transformations after they complete the trainings and the joy of the children when they see their newly improved schools.

He believes the key to becoming a successful BC is to be committed and dedicated every day in order to help the proprietors and schools reach their full potential. When asked his favorite part of being a BC he said, “Spending time with the children.” We are so grateful to Godfred for his role in giving the IDPRSP students a safe and nurturing environment to learn.

Please join us in congratulating Macleana and Godfred for being our very first Branch Coordinators of the Month!
